🔒 Short version: Bazee does not sell your data. Health data never leaves your device except through your personal iCloud account. We collect only what is strictly necessary to run competitions.

1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Bazee ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use the Bazee iOS application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data with transparency and care.
By using Bazee, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
2. Data We Collect
Account Information
Bazee uses Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple provides us with:
- A unique, anonymized Apple User ID (not your real Apple ID or email)
- An optional display name (only if you choose to share it)
We do not receive your Apple ID email address unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Profile Information
You may optionally provide:
- Display name (used in leaderboards and competitions)
- Activity goal preferences (Move, Exercise, Stand targets)
Device & Usage Data
We do not collect crash logs, analytics, or usage telemetry beyond what Apple's native frameworks provide as part of standard iOS operation. We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs.
3. Health & Activity Data
Health data is accessed on-device via HealthKit and synced only through your personal iCloud account. We never upload health data to our own servers.
With your explicit permission, Bazee reads the following data types from Apple HealthKit:
- Active Energy Burned (Move ring) — calories burned from physical activity
- Exercise Time (Exercise ring) — minutes of brisk activity
- Stand Hours (Stand ring) — hours with at least one minute of standing activity
How health data is handled
- Health data is read locally on your device only
- Aggregated daily totals (not raw measurements) are stored in your private iCloud CloudKit database to enable competition features
- Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy and is not accessible to us
- Health data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or disclosed to third parties
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or data broker purposes
You may revoke HealthKit access at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Bazee on your iPhone.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use the data described above solely to:
- Authenticate you securely via Sign in with Apple
- Display your activity rings and progress within the App
- Calculate your competition points and populate leaderboards
- Sync your data across your personal Apple devices via iCloud
- Show your display name and score to other members of competitions you have joined
- Provide the fasting tracker feature (stored locally and in your iCloud)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core functionality of the App.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
Competition participants
When you join a competition, your display name and daily activity score (points) are visible to other participants in that competition. Raw health measurements are never shared.
Apple services
Bazee integrates with the following Apple-provided services. Please review Apple's own privacy policies for these services:
- Sign in with Apple — authentication
- HealthKit — activity data access
- CloudKit (iCloud) — data sync and storage
- StoreKit / App Store — subscription management
No third-party SDKs
Bazee does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not share data with data brokers, ad networks, or any commercial third parties.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process (e.g., a court order or subpoena), but only to the extent required and after notifying you where legally permitted.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in two places:
- On your device — in a local Core Data database, protected by iOS data protection
- Your iCloud account — synced via Apple CloudKit, protected by Apple's iCloud encryption
We do not operate our own backend servers that store your personal or health data. Competition leaderboard data flows through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, which is governed by Apple's security practices.
We implement reasonable technical safeguards within the App; however, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your Apple ID secure.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as you use the App or until you delete it:
- Local data — deleted when you uninstall the App from your device
- iCloud data — remains in your iCloud account until you delete the App's iCloud data via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage or by contacting us
- HealthKit permissions — revoking access in iOS Settings immediately stops all future data reads; previously displayed data is removed on next app launch
8. Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over your data:
- Revoke HealthKit access — Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Bazee
- Delete your profile — Profile → Settings → Delete Account within the App
- Export or access your data — Contact us at the address below
- Opt out of competitions — Leave any competition at any time; your name and score are removed from that leaderboard
- Cancel subscription — Manage via your Apple ID in the App Store
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. Please contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Bazee is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you within the App. Continued use of Bazee after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
